CBHL Families,

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend.  The weekend seemed like a great opportunity to take a break from the craziness that August brings. I know just about everyone has started school by now and many of you have already hit the ice in some way to get ready for our 2022-2023 season.

Our team of volunteers have been working behind the scenes, pretty much non-stop since March to get our season up and running.  We are looking to fully wrap up scheduling here soon. We’ve started to upload the completed schedules we have to our website (more on that in a moment) and clubs have been posting completed schedules for their teams. The first league games will take place on Sept. 11. Kudos to our league scheduler, Mike Lyons, and all our club schedulers for working together to develop another complex schedule for this season.

For our 8U families, our season kick-off jamboree will be on October 1st at the Prince William Ice Center.  Details about this event will be forwarded to the participating clubs shortly.  We’ll also be posting our 8U jamboree schedule to the 8U section of our website shortly.

If you haven’t heard, we will utilize the GameSheet scoring system this year. Our Team Manager Manager, Katy Kaufman, and our team of GameSheet Gurus have been collaborating with our 273 amazing team managers to ensure they are trained on the system and to ensure their teams and rosters are set-up properly. GameSheet offers us many efficiencies, including the ability to post scores and standings in real time to our website. To see schedules and scores throughout the season, visit www.cbhl.org/gamecenter. Again, we just started to upload division schedules to the site, so check back throughout the week for updates.

We can’t talk about getting our hockey season up and running without acknowledging one of the most critical components of our game…our officials. Our teammates at SHOA have done a phenomenal job in recruiting and training officials at all levels during the off season.

Finally, thank you for all of the parents, guardians and coaches who are getting done what needs to get done in to give your kids the opportunities to grow and develop. There would be no season without your dedication and sacrifice.  Thank you!!!

Best of luck to everyone competing this upcoming season!
